Is there anything we can do?

So we've been trying to exchange on our house for 3 weeks the past 7 working days we've been really pushing it. Several phone calls to everyone everyday.

We thought everyone was ready to go and everyone had agreed the 13th, our removal company was provisionally booked but wouldn't confirm until we'd exchanged.

Today the people were buying from finally confirmed the 13th was ok, but this hasn't left much time for our solicitor or the people buying our house to request funds from the banks.

Both requested them yesterday and ours came through but the person buying our house didn't so we couldn't exchange today.

The people were buying off are now making out it's our fault when they've had 3 weeks to confirm the 13th was ok and only did it at 3pm today!

3pm was the deadline for us to confirm the removal booking so not only did we then lose the 13th for removal but we also may have to pay close to £2k for changing the date of the removal.

I'm not really sure what I'm asking, mainly can the removal company charge us even though the date was only provisionally booked?

I'm so annoyed I don't even want to move anymore

You need to read your contract. however, it does seem to make sense to be charged for a service that hasn't been confirmed.

doesn't make sense

Why are you moving on exchange not completion?

Yes why moving in exchange? Is it simultaneous exchange/completion?
Moving companies know the system is flawed and dates change - but still don’t understand why you booked it like this.
