Widening gap in kitchen chimney breast...

Can this be done?
I’m desperate to replace our rubbish oven but the gap is 90cm exactly so no 90cm oven will fit in Hmm
Ideally I’d like to widen the gap enough to get a 120cm oven in, but would settle for it being 5cm wider so I could have a new 90cm oven.
A builder looked at it and said we’d need to remove the entire chimney breast, but am wondering if anyone has successfully widened their gap and used a RSJ to strengthen it etc.

Is you kitchen narrow? If there is room I would just board up the chimney breast and move everything outwards, so you would have a new run of cupboards and whatever gap you desired for your cooker.

Thanks, but we definitely don’t have the room width to do that!

What size is the oven that's in there at the moment?
