Windows/renovation HELP!

Hi,

We’re part way through a renovation and can’t work out when we should install new windows. Do we do it before or after plastering? First fix of electrics and plumbing is done but we need new windows cills internally. Do we do these before or after windows?

Thanks

I’d do the windows now. It’s a messy job.

Okay and plaster them in? Worried about them getting damaged but I think most of the heavy work is done...

Windows before plastering. Our fitters were really tidy but I've seen other jobs that needed quite a bit of making good. You can get the cills fitted with the windows.

Hang on, sorry - is it a full replaster or just a skim? I'd probably do it after a full replaster (before any decorating) but before if it's just a skim.

Full replaster I think

If it was me

Windows before plaster.
If you do plaster first then you either have gaps where windows do not butt up to plaster or need to hack off excess plaster if it over extends.
If you do windows first then splashed plaster wipes off windows and you should end up with nice neat draft proof fit.
