Hi all,
Whats the process for a neighbour who has japanese knotweed growing in her garden and will not respond to requests for information. We have need info on works, guarantees of eradication, any necessary ongoing maintenance programme, indemnity policy for any financial blight we may suffer.

Are you buying next to or near to the JKW? If so, the sellers need to pull their fingers out and approach the neighbour. Assuming they really want to sell they can pay put a programme in place. You can contact the Environment Agency and local council for advice.

No they are existing neighbours who are not responding to correspondence.

Do you have legal cover on your home insurance? I'd ring them for advice. They will know how to escalate things.
