Online Vs Local mortgage broker

Hello!

I've had a few chats with a few online brokers and the range they seem to lend varied between £155k-185k.

We're not a very straightforward case because of some extra income I get, non resident children and going into maternity leave fairly soon.

The more I read about it appears that a local mortgage broker is a better option. But how do we find one? Tia

Where are you located?

You dont need a local broker, everything can be done long distance. You just need the right broker that will deal with none standard cases.

I’d recommend Mark at Cheam Financial Planning - used him for our first mortgage and using him again. Have to do almost zero thinking as he does it all for us!

We're in Cornwall. I agree a distance one is fine as long as it's the right one! I've read that L&C aren't that great with non straightforward cases, but still higher than habito.

Try Mortgage Sucess in Manchester. They deal with alot of adverse/non standard cases. They are an avid poster on the MSE site and highly recommend.

We used Paul Ridgeway at AMW Finance, all done remotely as not local. They were amazing and can accommodate different situations, we are 1 self employed and myself with 2 part time jobs. Was easy as pie and Paul was great at explaining stuff, easy to get in touch with etc and got us a great deal. I used them following 2 family members using their services and they both recommended Paul. Good luck with it all.
