Exchange - when and how will you know?

What happens generally? Would someone tell me before the exchange or will my solicitor tell me after? How long does the exchange process generally take?

I gave my authorisation on Wednesday. Didn’t exchange yet.

You will be asked by your solicitor to give authorisation each day, up until exchange takes place.

Therefore, if you haven't heard yet you shouldn't have exchanged. If the rest of the chain are now ready to exchange your solicitor should call to ask "Everyone is now ready, to you give me authorisation to exchange?"

Your solicitor should contact you to confirm exchange has taken place.

Ring your solicitor and ask exactly what you want to know about process and anticipated dates etc....

They work for you and should be happy / willing to answer your questions.
