South-facing garden riddle...

I'm confused & possibly being stupid.

My garden is south-facing, which means the back of my house is south-facing. The garden gets the sun most of the day... which would make the rooms at the back of the house the warmest... right?

My bedroom is like a sauna and it's at the front of the house, whereas the back bedrooms (south-facing) are nice and breezy and not that warm...

What is going on?!

Does it get the morning sun as it rises? We have an east facing wall that gets the full rising sun. On hot days the room on that wall is the hottest in the house (but to be fair it also gets the sun coming from the south during the middle of the day).

I have the same! Bedroom is to the south east and back to the south west. East bedroom gets so hot! Imho it's because the windows have just the top small part opening.

Are you a semi or end terrace? The rooms with the most outside walls will generally also be cooler and damper.

Do you get more breeze at the back eg because it looks over open gardens rather than facing other buildings?
