Totteridge & Whetstone - what's it like to live there?

I live in Kensal Rise, my sister lives in Highgate - elderly parents are now looking to buy in Totteridge & Whetstone but none of us know the area at all. So, if you know T&W, what is it like to live there? Nice community, good GP, shops, leisure facilities all important to my parents as are good transport links.

Very nice area - not fantastic transport links but ok (Totteridge and Whetstone tube - end of the Northern Line).
If they are planning on moving to a flat, make sure lease/service charges are thoroughly scrutinised!

Thanks Wishiknewthn - much appreciated. Fortunately looking at a bungalow rather than flat so should hopefully be abit mroe straight forward.

Arkley and Hadleigh Wood are beautiful but very expensive and not so easy transport wise 🙂
