Modern lounge with carpet?

We are having a major lounge and hall refurb. Sitting here surrounded by boxes with freshly plastered walls.
We would love wooden floor however the room used to be two rooms with slightly different height concrete floors. They have been joined previously by a concrete slope. Our builder is going to try some levelling compound however we have resigned ourselves to possibly having carpet.
Reassure me we can have a modern looking lounge with carpet. I am struggling to find any images.

I can’t see why not. Just a neutral carpet and you can have a rug on top for design purposes.

If you really don’t like the idea, though, it might be worth picking the brains of the local flooring shop. Maybe there are some vinyls or laminates that might work?

I think Karndean wood look floor can work on a slope. We’re thinkibg about using this as we’re fed up of carpet. Google it for premiere suppliers where they have trained fitters and the best advice

I'd get the floor properly levelled.

A carpet is never going to look modern.

Thanks. Yes we are worried it will always feel like a compromise if we have carpet. Hopefully the levelling compound will help but more than that is too much work and too much money

Mine’s just fine thank you.

I have carpet. Modern interior but old house. I love it. Looks great.

Why are you putting up with a slope in the middle of a room? Great selling usp in the future?!!!

Get the floor levelled properly. You will regret it if you don’t. Then you can have what you want. We battled with builders on this but we had to stick to our guns. It’s very important the work is done properly.
