What happens if we complete on the same day as our mortgage payment goes out?

As the title says really!

We are due to complete the same day that our mortgage comes out. Shall I cancel the direct debit for that day?

Speak with your bank. Ours went out, and then the bank very soon after refunded. We weren't porting the mortgage, using a different bank.

We were porting ours and it was absolutely fine. One month was slightly out of sync (different date and different amount) but the thing to remember is that your solicitor will draw down your mortgage in advance of completion date (normally 5 days ahead) so it's a bit haywire anyway. But they're used to dealing with it, and it all resolved itself. Just check your mortgage statement carefully.

The mortgage company should include this in their calculation of the amount needed to repay the mortgage.
