Second valuation???

We put in an offer back in December - got accepted, all is good! However we still haven't moved it yet! Every hurdle we have come up against has halted us! We have been waiting for something in the other side for 5 months now!

Here's my question - the market where I live has completely grinded to a halt (possibly due to brexit) anyway we are now worried that the house isn't worth what our offer was and will go into it in a negative (as in our mortgage is way more than the house is even worth!) if that makes sense.
I've been looking at house prices and they have all come down a lot! By around £30000! As the valuation was done over 8 months ago is there a way we can get one done again or not?
Any help is hugely appreciated thank you

If you are selling in the same area surely your buyers are thinking the same thing?

We are first time buyers. And the seller is moving in with family, so there is no chain

It's valuation usually valid for 6 months?

NinjaInFluffyPJs · 13/07/2019 19:01

Have you also checked validity of your mortgage offer?

hardyloveit · 13/07/2019 19:17

We have had to get the mortgage offer renewed as it only lasted 3 months and we are coming to renew again, (mortgage offer started very early feb or end of jan) so our advisor may say then ? Sorry we are very new to this so wasn't sure on what's what.
Thank you

Ask your mortgage advisor.
Tbh I would ask for a deduction in price after all this time if it's sellers holding it up. Not 30k, but 10-15k maybe.

Yes I was going to see if that's an option anyway - our end held it up by 4 weeks to begin with but the rest of the time it's been them. We have already lost over £1000 as we had a cash back offer and when we renewed the offer they didn't have it on again!
