Planning a new kitchen, would you prefer ;

Double oven and microwave on work surface.

Or
Single oven with built in microwave/combo micro

Also

A larder cupboard
Or
Wall and base unit with more workspace?

TIA

double oven with microwave on counter the house we are buying has an integrated oven with microwave above it its an eyesore at the end of the units, one of the first thing going is this monstrosity, with micro on counter you can move it to clean as well more flexible and i would go with seperate wall and base cupboard more work space is always handy to have

I would go for a double oven over a single an integrated microwave.

The more bench space versus larder would depend on how much bench space there already is and how much storage there already is, I don't think I have a straightforward answer for that one!

  1. Double oven every time. I rarely use our microwave.
  1. Larder, if that still left me with enough worktop space.

Double oven all day long

Double oven + freestanding m/w. Our m/w is in s cupboard, and it can be really awkward using it, opening the cupboard, opening the door, taking hot plates out etc.

Larder cupboard

Single and Combi Oven. Assuming you mean a proper combi microwave and oven (they're bloody expensive though!)

A double oven generally gives you a mediocre sized oven and a small oven / grill (often not fan assisted for the small one).

A single oven gives you plenty of space for your main oven. Depending on which combi you opt for, you will get more space than you would have in the secondary oven of a double, with the added benefit of a microwave function.

Both the single and combi can be used as a grill too so you have two choices when grilling.

Also, if you have a double and it breaks down, you have no oven. With a single and combi, if one breaks down, you have a back up.

Double oven & larder. That's what I have & it works well.

Two identical single ovens and a normal microwave.
