What to do with wasted space if extend kitchen

I've made a rough plan of a new kitchen if we ever get round to affording an extension (everyone needs a hobby) but if we put a downstairs toilet in, it feels like most of the space that was the original kitchen will be wasted. Maybe it doesn't matter as long as the new space fits in everything I want. What could I do with this space (red circle)? Hope the picture is readable - no washing machine as it's staying under the stairs. Any suggestions welcome.

Going to try and work with the attached - need to check dimensions to see if we can manage without the doors clashing. At the expense of some "nice to haves", I am going to try and get a workable separate kitchen with a small separate wc room. There is now space for a radiator (tall narrow one) next to the tumble dryer and dishwasher is next to the sink. Even with an extension the space isn't great so I'm never going to get the perfect kitchen but it would be a huge improvement on what is there currently. Thank you for everyone's comments and suggestions (and pictures!!).

Looks good OP. Maybe consider a bifold door on the kitchen to save space, but they are not great on bathrooms.

I got a bifold door on the kitchen when we moved in but it was rubbish / didn't block out any noises or smells. Took it out and put a curtain back after a year. Maybe i just got a rubbish one. I'm sure there'll be a way to make it work - I've probably got a couple of years to investigate before we can afford to do it!

Have you considered extending at the end of the house only, instead of a side return? That way, the kitchen can be where the existing sitting rom is and built round the chimney breast, the loo accessed from the hallway, and a sitting or dining area with patio doors overlooking the garden.

I really want to keep the existing living room if possible, but would consider that if the side extension can't happen (reliant on shared driveway neighbours having ability and willingness to allow building works on the driveway).
