Talk to me about blinds

Boring topic sorry.

I'm looking for some nice blackout blinds for my baby son's room (as the sun is shining on it all day and it becomes ridiculously hot) and also my bedroom as I have light coloured curtains.

Where is best to get them from? My budget isn't huge but I want good quality.

Many thanks if anyone can help :)

Roller blinds

Roman blinds

They cover all budgets.

Dunelm are good as they come in lots of widths.

Another vote for blinds2go good quality, and the blackout works really well.
We have plain white ones as they were cheapest and we kept the curtains as we already had them!

Also used blinds2go for standard made to measure roller blackouts and are impressed. We have them in the recess and light gets round the sides but without spending £££ that's always an issue.

In our guess bedroom we have IKEA blackout rollers. They are also fine, not made to measure so are in front of the window and block out more light. The blind cost about £15. Having cut DIY blinds down before I'd suggest you don't go that route as it looks awful and put blinds outside if you go off the shelf instead.

I've also used blinds-2-go and been pleased.
In the kids room we have a bloc blind, over the outside of the recess. Light still gets round so we use one of those geo-blinds suctioned to the glass too (I HATE putting this up every effing night). I am in the process of making some super thick, huge, light excluding curtains instead but it's taking me a very long time...

Don't know if this helps OP, but Dunelm (and other places) sell ready made blackout curtain linings.
Depending on the size of your curtains, would that help solve your problem?

Another shout for Blinds2go. We’ve had them in two houses, as have adult DCs and friends.
They’ve always been great, made to measure, arrived on time and stood the test of time. They are the cheapest, best value around.
Our holiday house has had them for 10 years and they’re still perfect.
I sound like an advert!
