Why hasn't this South Sheffield property been snapped up?

Lovely home, great location, why hasn't someone snapped it up already?
Came up on my Facebook feed, I'm fairly local to it.
What do you think?

Looks like it’s on a busy road to me. A lot of money, I don’t know the Sheffield market but i’d Imagine you could get something older with character for that.

Lovely views though.

EskewedBeef · 03/07/2019 00:15

I think most people would expect a more salubrious location for that sort of money. The decor is awful, but wouldn't stop someone buying it if it was priced sensibly.

BitOfFun · 03/07/2019 00:16

It's a tacky McMansion (IMO). No character whatsoever.

JanuarySun · 03/07/2019 05:57

It's very 'New Money'

BentNeckLady · 03/07/2019 06:43

The only nice thing about it is the view.

Hoppinggreen · 03/07/2019 08:28

If I was spending that I wouldn’t want another house practically attached to it
It’s also a bit over the top decoration wise, which I know could be changed but for that money ????

OneThreadOnly0101 · 03/07/2019 08:39

It's incredibly expensive (for Sheffield), isn't particularly big for a 6 bed house and doesn't have enough outside space.

I also wouldn't like living over 4 floors.

TyrionsNextWife · 03/07/2019 08:45

It could be a nice enough house, but if I was spending that sort of money I wouldn’t want to have to breath in to squeeze between me and the neighbours.

LottaHogs · 03/07/2019 09:01

The interior is tacky and very dated, the garden photos highlight the really obvious photoshopping (lime green grass!), it’s too e to the neighbouring house and did I mention the tacky and dated interior?

Miltonj · 03/07/2019 09:04

'cos everyone in Sheffield who is buying atm, wants to live in Netheredge, endcliffe or Greystones, were the houses are just as nice, but cheaper and closer to town, allowing them to live the same kind of life they were when renting around town centre saving to buy.

Hoppinggreen · 03/07/2019 09:04

There seem to be a couple of people expressing surprise over 2 very similar properties in Sheffield, with links funnily enough.
Total coincidence or clickbait?

LindaLa · 03/07/2019 09:06

I may be wrong (I'm not) but if you can't walk around a house, then it's not detached.

Decor is very trashy, very cluttered and therefore poky!

I'd rather have 3 or 4 decent sized bedrooms than 6 tiny ones.

It's too bloody expensive for Sheffield!

GlitchStitch · 03/07/2019 09:11

I wouldn't expect to be so close to the neighbouring house for that money. You can get a much more detached plot for that price where I live (further south and more expensive house prices than Sheffield).

Passthecherrycoke · 03/07/2019 09:14

PP You do realise the sellers will take their furniture/ clutter with them don’t you? 🤣 who cares about that? They can live there how they want.

I really like it especially the view but I don’t know about house prices in the area at all

wowfudge · 03/07/2019 09:15

The last ones didn't cherrycoke - sane dining table and chairs still there 9 years later.

Passthecherrycoke · 03/07/2019 09:16

But they obviously bought it with the sale- you don’t get the dining table unless you want it!

TheRedBarrows · 03/07/2019 09:17

Who wants to go downstairs for a cup of tea / wine top up when you are watching tv in the lounge? Carrying food up?

And if I was buying new build I would buy actual new build with warranties etc still in place.

Jinglejanglefish · 03/07/2019 09:19

The outside looks like a block of flats

Paddingtonthebear · 03/07/2019 09:19

Crazy expensive, doubt anyone can afford it, online figures suggest the average house price in Sheffield is under £200k and the median household income is under £30k

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 03/07/2019 09:21

I never understand the "it's too cluttered" argument.

the clutter goes when the owner leaves - surely you can just see past the clutter??????

9Greenbottles · 03/07/2019 09:24

The stunt pineapple pushed the price up 😀

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 03/07/2019 09:31

is it Liberace's holiday home?

MrsBertBibby · 03/07/2019 09:36

Rubbish estate agent photographer. There is crap on top if the wardrobes in one room. Put that shit in the hall before you take the pic! Amateurs.

MrsBertBibby · 03/07/2019 09:37

And those two randomly pointed white armchairs did my head in. What's that about?

WoopieDoo · 03/07/2019 09:37

Sloping garden with a city layout. That would a lot of up and down with young kids. It's detached in name only. That has neighbor dispute written all over it. If you have enough kids to need 6 bedrooms then you need a bigger garden. The inevitable trampoline will be hard to site and will annoy the very close neighbors. The electronic gates say unsafe neighborhood to me. And for that price point it has no curb appeal at all. The outside is just odd.
