Hi! Looking to move house, the third bedroom in the house we have seen is 8ft7 by 6ft5 which I know is pretty small! We only have one child at the moment but do plan on having another in the future. Is this big enough for a childs bedroom? The house was unfurnished when we viewed so I'm struggling to picture it. There is fitted wardrobes in the room so that would save space from needing a wardrobe etc. Also if anyone has a bedroom this size can i see some pics? Thanks

That's pretty small even for a box room. However, 6ft5 is long enough for a child's bed + a small wardrobe would fit in too.

If you're looking at small 3-bed semis, then that's a pretty standard size.

It would be ok for a child up to toddler but too small for a school aged child I’d say. You could just about fit a bed in sideways but that leaves only 5 1/2 ft to fit wardrobe and anything else like drawers and a desk. So fine for maybe the next five years.

It's a 3 bed detached, the rest of the house is pretty big, just the 3rd bedroom.

Well you'd get a loft bed in there, with space for desk/toys/random shite underneath, and still have a bit of floor space, so I'd say it's fine.
Dd16 is in a room a tiny bit bigger, it's not great, but she manages fine. Less floor space to fill with crap!

My son grew up in a room like that, we moved when he was 17. It was fine, we just had to be clever with furniture.

Slightly bigger than the room my son had until he moved out aged 21! It was a squeeze by then, him being 6ft3, but for much of that time he had a platform bed and desk etc beneath.

That’s fine. Children manage in small spaces and so do adults if needed. You can make do. Esp since there are fitted wardrobes.
