Wet room kit question

Hi
We are doing a bathroom refurb and plan to have a wet room as part of it. We have finally managed to identify a bathroom fitter but are buying all the fittings ourselves.
I wanted to ask anyone who has had a wetroom installed for any advice they can offer. Can you advise on the best tanking kits or essential products? Did you run into any problems?
It’s just that I don’t want the bathroom fitter to be cutting corners and getting cheap products that may cause us problems later down the line.

I'd have thought it best to speak to the fitter and get his recommendations. Having used a selection he'll probably know what's best in which application.

Definitely get a shower tray kit, ie drain plus tray to be tiled on a slight slope under the shower area. Wetroommaterials.com have decent stuff and can advise over the phone, it’s not the cheapest kit mind you. There is quite a big step up in quality between the cheaper wetroom/shower kits and the ones double the cost. Annoyingly!

You want to make sure the entire floor is waterproofed - Ditra matting or similar. Not just the shower area. Also wediboard /hardibacker or similar on the walls under the tiles.
