High Wycombe - where to live exactly

So we are making the move over from east London and packing our bags for high Wycombe as have a couple of fairly close by friends NW London but can’t afford to live in NW London!

Dh works in London and we’ve seen
that most of the train lines up that way cater for his journey.

The thing is, it was no romantic walk in the park going around Wycombe. It really wasn’t us. We need to commute to high Wycombe as I have a job there from August as have a job sorted but I’m happy for a longgggg commute if it means staying out of HW unless someone comes along and says there’s a really nice part that we missed! We liked Marlow but think the journey across London seems too long. He’s thinking up to an hour but ideally would be less.

Should add renting initially...

Amersham and surrounding villages - Holmer Green, Hazlemere, Missenden, Kingshill. Amersham has the metropolitan line and Chiltern rail into Marylebone.

Penn, Tylers Green and Beaconsfield are lovely but expensive. Beaconsfield to Marylebone is a v quick commute.

Further away, Maidenhead and surrounds is a longer commute to HW but is getting Crossrail.

What’s your budget? Are schools a consideration?

@JustTheCrowsAndTheBeef thank you, £2.5k rent ideally not more but could at a push go up to 3k as keeping our house.

Don’t need to worry about schools.

We’ve been looking at properties but so difficult to figure out what is a nice area and what’s not when we don’t know much about any of them. Also don’t seem to be a lot on the market at the moment.
