New Kitchen Help

Planning on getting a new kitchen (probably from Magnet) but am interested in how other people have done it. Did you buy your kitchen worktops elsewhere? Did Magnet (or other) supply your appliances, or did you go elsewhere? Same with flooring? Did you use your own builder, or use their fitters? Buy it through trade or retail?

Any advice or experience would be really helpful, have never done this before! Thank you!!!

I’m currently having a Howden’s kitchen installed. Hopefully will be finished tomorrow as I’m sick of camping out in my bedroom with the cat. I’m really pleased with the cupboards and worktops as they look beautiful. Already have most appliances but bought cooker hood and dishwasher myself. Also using current flooring but Howden’s did a wide range. Using my own builder, he’s also my NDN so don’t have to worry about him making a noise. 😄. Howden’s sell only to trade so got it through his account with them. This wasn’t a problem as they were completely transparent about the cost.

Had a builder managing whole project (there was a bit of building work also required, not just a straight replacement kitchen job). Bought kitchen from local kitchen place, bought appliances from both kitchen place and JL (depending on who could supply what - my oven I could only source at JL). Worktops were from local stone merchant via kitchen place. Flooring bought directly with Mandarin Stone and builder arranged for it to be appropriately laid. He also subcontracted decorator for paintwork.
