Installing new lounge flooring - moving furniture?

We want to replace our tatty carpet with engineered wood but what do we do with our furniture?

It won’t all fit in other rooms for the installation, can we put the floor down in sections and just move the furniture around the room as we do it?

I’ve even contemplated putting in patio doors so we could move everything outside lol.

A tradesman wont be happy to keep lugging your furniture about. Surely what goes in, can come out?

I've always completely cleared the room.

Invest in some tarpaulin and pray for dry weather! It might not take as much room as you think if you stack it up.

If the weather is fine you could put it outside other wise it's a case of doing what you already suggested - half the room then the other half

Thanks all, I suspected that we would need to move everything out.

Discussed with DH today and he really wants to put French doors in so we will probably do that (next year) then re-decorate and do the floor at the same time. In the meantime I’ll sort out the colour way and order new curtains to brighten up the room in the meantime. Will order floor length so as not to have curtains too short next year lol

I’d love to do it this year but with a new 115sqm driveway being done this year funds are a bit tight!
