DIY or magnet or howdens

I got a design and price from magnet. I had heard they were really expensive so I take my list and pop like for like into DIY. The difference was 1k. I must admit I thought it would be a lot more.
Anyone got any experience of which is the best? I liked the magnet kitchen and they have a very short wait time on ordering etc.

We got a quote from Howdens that was way more expensive than I anticipated. Took it to benchmarx and they undercut it by over £2k

Howdens then offered to price match but we stuck with benchmarx as their customer service had been fantastic. Plus I preferred the colour of the kitchen they offered. They also gave us a great deal on Corian worktop that I wasn't expecting.

I had Magnet. The units themselves are nice. They look good many years later BUT I had horrific after fitting service when there was an issue with two units. I vowed never again to use them.

The process was all very smooth and delivery fine back in april.

But...the quality of the kitchen is not what I expected. The paint chips and scratches all over the place and we haven’t even moved in to use it.

They are getting loads of complaints at the moment and have ridiculous after care customer service where you can’t physically speak to anyone on the phone about any problems.
I’ve spent £6 on a kitchen that is looking marked and rough before we’ve even moved in and am absolutely gutted. Everyone keeps talking about that quality and I’m a bit ‘whaaat?!’

I wish we had just gone for Howdens
