Here's mine
Age 28 - one bed, bought as a single person
Age 31 - two bed, with DH and pregnant
Age 48 - four bed house

All in the same area. Expect that we will downsize in a few years time to help fund retirement.

Age 20 (86) moved in with soon to be dh who already had one bed cottage on Dartmoor.

Age 22 (88) sold cottage for stonking profit and bought end of terrace Edwardian 5 bed in local town convenient for dh's work.

Age 26 (1992) sold house and made about £15k. Bought forever house, period 4 bed detached in a 'desirable Tamar Valley village'.

Age 40 (2006) moved to Belgium, and lived in the first of three rentals, Cornish house rented out.

Age 47 (2013) moved back to Cornish house for 9 months to do it up post tenants, and then moved back to Belgium.

Age 53 (2019), in 1774 Rococo house (rental), but will be moving back to the Cornish house as dh retires. Mortgage gone by November, 2.3 years early, just after we move back.

We plan to live in the Cornish house for a decade or so, and then revisit our options before dh turns 70. We may decide to move into a larger village with better public transport, or the local stannary town.

29 - 3 bed with exH.

41 - 3 bed with DH No2.

52 - 2 bed (downsized, but to a much bigger house/garden in a much nicer area).

DD and her DH well on their way.

24 - 3 bed semi.

28 - 4 bed detached.

Midlands though, so very doable.

22 bought 2 bed terraced with OH was my fiance at the time
28 sold 2 bed and purchased a 3 bed detached

Rented in Zone 1 London (flatshare) aged 19-22, then on my own in Zone 2 in a 1 bed flat.

Bought a 3 bed terrace in Zone 2 with DH at 26.

Moved to a 4 bed semi in Zone 4 when pregnant with DC2 at 30.

Early 40s now. Not going anywhere any time soon as DCs settled in school. Mortgage will be paid off by the time I’m 50, and hoping by then we can downsize to a 3 bed flat somewhere slightly more central.

Age 25 1 bedroom flat for 59k
Age 30 3/4 bedroom forever house for 164k... been in 10 years and now valued at 210.
Prices for central Scotland.

Age 20 bought one bed flat with boyfriend. Split up 2 years later and the flat was in negative equity but exBF was happy to take on flat and mortgage leaving me free of any commitment.

Age 25 bought three bed semi with soon to be husband.

Age 29 moved up to a 4 bed detached with DH

Age 37 moved to a 4 bed semi in a much more expensive area to be near good schools for DS who was then 2 years old.

Still in same house and am now 49. Mortgage almost paid of now and have no plans to move again unless we feel the urge to downsize.
