Hi, looking for some advice as I've had great input on here before! I'm about to start a too renovation.

I think we need to:
Remove the carpet
Plaster and paint
Install flooring (wooden, and carpet on the stairs)
Install fitted wardrobe
Replace velux blinds

Have I missed anything obvious? (I appreciate you don't know the room!) What about skirting boards? Any tips for getting this done as painlessly and quickly as possible? Will be using professionals as we don't have time/skills to do any of it ourselves.

If you’re plastering anyway I’d be tempted to remove the skirting board, plaster, lay your wood floor then replace skirting board. That way you won’t need beading. Any electrics need doing? Squeaky floorboard that need fixing?

Squeaky floorboard possibly... no electrics though, I don't think. Had to look up beading but that makes sense, thanks.

No plugs you need to move and have you checked they all work? Also if it’s an old property is your fuse board ok (ours has to be replaced and we were lucky this didn’t cause any knock -on problems as we’d already had it plastered!

No, don't think so... It's going to become a bedroom, I'll check all the plugs again but I think they work. There are 8 in total, which should be enough.

Oh, radiators? I'd like to change both - make one smaller (less wide) so it fits centrally between two windows, and replace the other too.
