Tell me about your Howdens kitchen

I've seen lots of lovely kitchens in the howdens brochure, and I've heard good things about howdens. But I'm not sure about how to decide if to get my kitchen from them due to the ridiculous policy that they only sell to trade, so in order to get a price I apparently go get it designed and they then tell my tradesman the price. Well parts of the design may have to change because of price so how does this work?
Also, when I went to their showroom today the whole process from design to order seems quite rushed... please tell me your experiences and how it worked for you. Also, are you happy with your kitchen?

I’ve just ordered a Howden’s kitchen. The guy came to my house and together we planned the kitchen. I then went into the showroom where he had it up on a big screen and I made some alterations. He then sent me a quotation itemising everything that was required. I passed that on to my fitter who ordered it and arranged for delivery. I knew the price I was paying as soon as the kitchen was finalised.

Thanks @AlexaAmbidextra that's useful to know.. I thought it was word that you got a design without a price.. I now need to find a kitchen fitter!
