What do we do to this window?

We’ve decorated our living room, but I’m stuck on what to do with the window. The curtains currently hanging are from the previous owner and look quite dated, but I’m not sure what to replace them with. The room is F&B Schoolhouse White with navy on either side of an inglenook fireplace. I’ve considered navy curtains, but worried they would be too heavy and dark. I’ve also considered shutters, but maybe the window isn’t tall enough? What would you do? Sorry the photo is a bit rubbish - it was taken from the sofa while feeding.

What do we do to this window?

What about a soft grey or silver colour? Next had some very thick material metallic textured ones a while ago. They add a little bit of definition and feeling of luxury rather than a limp hanging curtain.

I think something thick would be good, but we’ve got a bit of gold and yellow in the room, so I don’t think grey would work.

Heavy and full length curtains, I would go for a print which is predominately navy. Maybe a William Morris style to pick out the gold and yellow tones? Plus install a wooden pelmet and paint it the same colour as the walls to hide the curtain track.

I love your chairs, are they from Made.com? I'm not a curtain lover sorry so can't advise Grin

LaLa, they’re actually from Ikea. They also have them in a lovely grey fabric, but my husband is banishing fabric from our home because it collects the dog fur. Hmm

Samana, a print is a good idea. We’re off to John Lewis now to explore options.

ooh thank you, I will have a look!

Navy and gold chenille or velvet printed fabric. The only disadvantage is that you would not see the deail in the uppermost oart of the glass. I have shutters in the bedroom and love them but I wouldn't have them in the lounge because I think they interrupt the view too much

So sorry. I meant to add Roman Blinds. Having a particularly bad menopause day today!
