Hi
Can anyone recommend a good mortgage broker in Manchester/Stockport areas?
Thanks

Try London & County. They are online and by phone but are excellent. They also get their commission from the mortgage provider so don't cost you a penny

Thank you - will check them out

I had a bad experience with L&C. Went with an independent broker recommended by someone on here. He’s seen us through two moves and several remortgages since then and I would unequivocally recommend him. He’s based in the West Country but we’re nowhere near there - we always just deal with him via phone/ email. You can pm me if you’d like his details.

Tussle mortgage brokers were great for us. And didn’t cost us anything either. Everything is done online and they got us a mortgage when we thought we might struggle to get one.

Hi there,

I can recommend Amy Lancaster from Amas Investments; [email protected]. The company is based in Thetford but I found them via unbiased reviews website and dealt with Amy entirely online.
She sent us a form to fill in and came back with a detailed description of what we could afford and the various options available to us. She is very thorough, prompt in all of her responses and gave us advice regarding several houses we looked at before we finally chose a house and started the actual mortgage application.

I used Habito and Trussle and although they provided plenty of options, they couldn't provide me advice when I was comparing 2 houses and 3 types of possible mortgage, whereas Amy could.

I attended appointments with to two other brokers but their advice was very general until I agreed to proceed with all the ID checks and sign up with them at a second appointment. I liked Amy as she provided me with a meticulously presented report with all my options after I sent her just one form.

Her fee was £199 paid upon acceptance of the mortgage and I felt this was worth every penny.

London and Country all the way. We have used them for years.

They are still the top recommended mortgage broker on MoneySavingExpert.

I recently recommended them to a friend, she was incredibly pleased with their service.
