We're having our kitchen extended into the side return and the extension will have a glass roof and bifold glass doors at the end.
The kitchen is north facing and we're in the middle of a terrace, so the extension won't receive much direct sunlight.
As a result, I'm inclined to not bother with any kind of thermal coating for the glass (to make it Low-E), but I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone has done something similar and regretted not going for the thermal coating?
Also, I think I will opt for the low maintenance coating for the roof - I know it will still need cleaning, but hopefully less often! If anyone has any experience of whether that option is or isn't worth going for then please let me know!
