Listed Building - Planning Permission for Summerhouse?

We have a G2 listed early Georgian farmhouse. We'd like to put a summerhouse or log cabin type of building at the end of the garden (about 30m from the rear elevation of the house). Perhaps something like this: Octagonal Summerhouse

I know we need planning permission but the council won't tell me the chances of getting pp granted unless I buy a £200 "preplanning" consultation. But I don't think I'm at that stage yet - I'm just shopping around and want a general "no, definitely not" or "maybe, as long as it's not bigger than x and taller than y and in keeping" type of answer.

So finally, my question! Have any of you put a summerhouse/shed/playhouse in the garden of your G2 house? If so, what conditions did your LA put on the construction and how easy was pp to obtain?

TIA Smile
