Do you regret extending and not moving?

At the moment we've decided to stay and do an extension but I'm still worried that we're making the wrong decision and wondered if anyone else has extended and wishes they'd moved after all?

Definitely not! Putting the money into making our house better or wasting it on stamp duty and other moving fees? No brainer. Moving to a house that's as nice as ours is now would cost a lot more than what we paid to extend. But we did get exactly what we wanted with our extension and we did a lot ourselves to save money. It was a stressful year or two but it has paid off.

Never once regretted it. No faff/stress/expense of moving. Our house had many plus points for us and the extension made it what we need for a growing family. I don't think it's our 'forever' home but we will be here for the foreesable and will hopefully extend up in the next few years.

It wouldn't make sense to go through the hassle and expense of moving for the sake of getting a house the same as yours + an extension.

If you'd like to move up the ladder to an overall bigger property that your house can never be, then building an extension might not solve the problem.

Have you been round any potential houses to see what you could buy? That could help you decide.
