Cleaning when you move

I'm hoping to move within the next few months. As I'm single, I'm managing the whole process myself. Is it expected that you leave the place you are selling spotless? If you get cleaners in once your stuff is out, how do you manage the process? I'll be moving some distance away so would expect to move with all my furniture. Is there some magic formula that I don't know about? Additionally, I've got a cat - do cat owners put their cat in a cattery for a couple of days to stop it from getting underfoot reduce stress for it?

I'm interested in responses! We are relocating and this is our first house move with a same day turnaround. So far I'm thinking I might pay for a kitchen and bathroom deep clean the day before, and try and clean the other rooms as we pack.

We also have 4 cats and I can't decide whether to put them in a cattery to keep them out of the way or if this would double the stress for them?

Put the cats in a cattery for 3-4days. Clean as you go, normal clean is fine & wipe down cupboards.

I wouldn't want to move straight into a dirty house, so have always left our old property as we'd like to find it. Things like cleaning at the back of things like cookers, fridges which you're taking, can be done a few days before. As can skirting boards, windows.

If you're selling, you probably won't have time for someone to come in afterwards and clearn. I was still cleaning at 12.30 when purchasers and their removers turned up. Completion had just gone through, so I gave them the option, I'd get the last things out immediately, or they could wait for 30 mins while I finished the kitchen.

I'm worried that it will be stressful for them going to the cattery, and then more stress going on to the new house after the cattery?
