We’ve almost got our house ready to put in the market to sell and buy something bigger in the area. 2 bed terrace/first time buyer kind of house. Have had three valuations from two local estate agents and one from our local purplebricks agent. They’ve all been quite generous in their valuations. I wasn’t expecting myself to be impressed with purplebricks and felt i’d probably go with the local agent but i’ve had my head turned. I can’t really see what you would really get for the extra £500, so i’m just wanting peoples experiences with using them really, sellers and buyers. next door sold with them two months ago and accepted an offer which was only £1k less than the (what I thought was ambitious) asking price.

just to clarify, we would be laying the extra £300 i think it is for the viewing service and it still works out £500 cheaper than local agent.

Well my neighbour's house didn't sell, and he's decided not to move. But in the 13 weeks he listed it we came to know them as "Purple Pricks". Shocking service according to him

We used them. They were fine. We were selling a nice house in sought after location. We did it need them to seep the house IFKWIM. We just needed them to get us onto all the selling boards . We had 3 offers in a week and accepted an offer in 10 days. This wasn't due to Purple bricks it was because of the house / size /location

I have heard that if you have to actually sell your house ie stagnant market then you are better off with a traditional agent

We used PB to sell our previous home, it sold in 3 days - desirable area where properties are snapped up. We made the mistake of using their conveyancing firm - truly awful 'service.'
I'd recommend PB but use your own solicitor for the sale. If you think your property may struggle to sell then go with a local agent.

I have two friends who used them and sold quickly. You need to be on the ball to manage viewings etc, but they both were pleased. Loads of viewings, if it put anyone off, then it wasn't noticeable.
