Wood Flooring experts - help!

Hello to anyone out there πŸ‘‹
I need help and have a wood laying question. We are having some engineered wood put down today/this week but have been having a bit of a hard time with the traders with what seems them trying to cut corners left and right and having to be on top of them to get a good result :/

They have told us that we need to have a threshold between our planks in the hall way and the herringbone floor in the bedroom. This could very well be correct but now I’m doubting everything.

Ideally I would like a plank (or anything flush) between the rooms and would love to avoid a raised threshold divider if possible. The woods are slightly different thickness so we put underlay and ply to compensate but apparently it’s still not perfectly flush.

Is there anything we can do to avoid the hideous threshold??

Any advice and creative answers would be super welcome!
Thanks!
