Hi All,

My wife and I are in the process of moving to Milton Keynes (buying a house) by September and will appreciate recommendations of areas to move to for a young family and which areas to avoid.

The general rule of thumb is to avoid areas with straight roads!
If you have a young family, I would maybe look at the newer estates as they seem to attract younger families; some of the older more established estates tend to have more older people (who might well have moved in years ago when they were a young family!).

If you need proximity to the M1, then the east side is obviously closer and most of the estates in the east are nice. If you want the station then Loughton/Shenleys/Furzton/Great Holm in the west are also nice.

If you have any more details of the sort of place/area you are looking for, I might be able to help further!

The worst estates eg Coffee Hall, Netherfields, Beanhill, Conniburrow are generally nearer the centre. Please PM if you'd like more specifics as I lived there for a number of years.
