Hi,

I'd love to get your thoughts on a few ideas. If the below interior services were available, would you use them?

  1. Take you on a shopping trip around the world to buy what you need for your home. Means you can experience the culture and learn the stories behind the products
  1. Sourcing interior products that you want, but can't find
  1. Designing your dream home, and showing you how to do it on a budget
  1. Designing your dream home, and showing you how to do it on a budget. Then sourcing the products for you

Really appreciate your feedback!
Thanks,
Holly

Well all those already exist. I wouldn’t use 1) as I don’t have unlimited budget; 2) many interiors designers /antique dealers do this as a matter of course; 3) dream home and budget (unless big) don’t belong in the same sentence and isn’t that what architects do?; 4) that’s the same as 2 and 3.

Sorry that sounded a bit harsh but I renovate houses and I think a lot of what you listed already is handled by the professionals I’ve mrntioned.

  1. no, I would have to be stinking rich to afford that and I'm not. Even if I was, no; I would prefer to stumble upon items on my travels and bring them back to me of a great holiday.

  2. no, I feel I can do this myself

  3. & 4) no - I would get an architect to do this and if it was my dream home it wouldn't be on a budget

*to remind me of a great holiday

You can take me on a shopping trip round the world! You pay the travel, I'll pick up a few bits and pieces on the way round.
But seriously, this is all either already available, or just pie in the sky. Why not just stick to interior design?

Hi. Thanks for your thoughts. On 3 + 4, sorry I meant design interior look, not the house itself. Sorry wasn't clear!

I think with interior design the pool of people with serious money to drop is small.

What sets you up to make them choose you over the competition? It’s really about being accessible/welcomed to that crowd, going to the same schools as the rich etc, and then pursuing it as a career.

I would be interested in number 2 OP. I am currently looking fur various items that I can't find. e. g. A white kitchen/dining table, topped with matt Formica like material, that extends to 3m or a little more. Leaves stored in the table, a hard wearing surface, and legs that stay in the corners when the table is extended. I also wish it to go down to a small size, e.g 1.5m.
