Still waiting to exchange, the sellers part exchanged the house I'm buying for a new build ages ago so the building company wanted it off their hands and exchanged within a certain time and that was a month ago.

I'm just waiting for them to do a couple of things on the house that they agreed to take care of. Last I heard they were getting quotes but that was weeks ago.

I'm a first time buyer, I'm living in a house share in a dump I absolutely hate. I'm chasing my Solicitor constantly to chase them.

I want the keys in my hand. I want a fully stocked fridge of my own again. I want my privacy back. I want a home!

Why is it taking so bloody long?! If it falls through for some reason I'll be absolutely gutted. It's only a little terraced house but it'll be mine and I'll treasure it. It's been 2.5 months already :-(

2.5 months is really no time the home owners alliance quote average time from offer to completion of 4 months. But many sales are much more protracted than that for a whole variety of reasons.

Yeah I know, I just wish I knew WHEN it was happening x

We only exchanged yesterday after many threats of pulling out.

We were waiting on the first time buyer for 5 weeks!! Offer had been accepted at the start of Feb.

Hang in there, itll all be worth it

I hope so lol. I'm trying to look on the bright side and think well the longer it takes the more of a nest egg I'm building before getting started on the mortgage :-)

We've been waiting 4 months now.

First set of buyers pulled out after picking about for 2 months, then vendor of house we really want threatened to pull his house off the market as EA wasn't straight with him about us losing our buyers.

He gave a strict deadline of end of this month to complete with a new set of buyers so the stress has been unbelievable.

Should have been exchanging today but it didn't happen due to one piddly document, should be tomorrow but I am so used to things going wrong, I'll believe it when I bloody see it.

Never again..
