Temporary floor covering for concrete/ply boarding

Moving into a new house and it’s going to be a month before we can get the flooring down. It’s bare dusty concrete down stairs and ply/chip board upstairs.

The plastic self adhesive floor covering you can buy to cover carpets, would that stick to the concrete/wood and we can live with it for a few weeks?

Trying to find out if we can wait for the flooring people or rush to get it down the day we move.

you could put down hardboard for a short time. Tape all joins and tape the edges down. It is fairly floppy so it will lie flat. Put the biggest pieces down in the middle of the room, touching the end with the most traffic, and put your small cut pieces round the edges. Let the factory-cut side lie against your middle piece, they will be perfectly straight and square so will fit tight together.

If you want to spend a bit more you could put vynil flooring over the top, a cheap one will do.

You can walk on chipboard upstairs. Some ply is a bit splintery though.
