Painting stair risers - advice needed

Being a regular stalker in Pinterest I have fallen in love with stair risers that have been painted to look like book spines. I want to paint each riser in different bright colours, but I am struggling to find paint colours I like which aren't sold in huge tins. So being, let's call it frugal, I have found that's Ronseal do small tims of garden furniture paint in a range of gorgeous bright colours. Do you think this is okay to use on the risers. It's waterproof and hardwearing, at least that's what it says on the tin 😉. I figure if it's okay outside it should be okay inside. Is this a bad idea?

I'd say go for it. I painted mine, but, they do show kick marks after a while. I need to clean them but can't be arsed Grin

Just buy wallpaper and cut it to fit!

if you live anywhere near Leeds, pay a visit to Seagulls. They're a social enterprise and can sell you all the paint you could ever need at super cheap prices:
