Fitting a new kitchen, really, really want to get stone counter tops rather than laminate, but don’t think we will be able to afford it. Was quoted around £2.5k by ikea and diy kitchens. Have found an independent guy who quoted around £1500 which I was impressed by. But as the budget is being squeezed even more im not sure we will be able to stretch to that. It’s a not very big u-shaped kitchen around 2.5m each side and about 1.2m width across the U.
Did anyone track down some bargain OJ’s counter tops and if so how? How much did you pay? One fitter told me about a guy he knows who works for a local stone counter top company but does it privately for much cheaper but I haven’t got his details yet.
Which tends to be the cheapest out of quartz, granite etc? I’m not too fussy which type I have I just want something durable.
