New build home snagging service

I'm looking for recommendations and experiences of using a home snagging service. We're due to complete next month and I'm wondering if it's worth getting professionals in to help us with snagging. We know next to nothing about house building and I don't really know where to begin! I'm pretty confident I can spot patchy paint and nicks in the plaster, and tell if the taps and sockets work, but I'm not sure what else I should be checking. Has anyone found it worthwhile using a specialist company?

I've worked in the New Build Defects warranty business and I'm always surprised people don't get surveys done on new build properties - some of the properties I've seen built have been appalling and downright dangerous.

I would recommend getting a survey done by a proper qualified surveyor - I've not dealt with "snagging services", so can't comment on their services

Thank you - I hadn't thought to check on the RICS website.
