Cheap garage floor/man cave flooring or matting

We've built a garage at the bottom of our garden (36m2). It is plastered and painted etc inside as it's more of a man cave for DH (games console and sofa etc up there too). It's quite rustic with signs on the wall etc and he doesn't want carpet/lino etc.
It's currently just a concrete floor (painted in floor paint to seal it).

I was thinking of some sort of rubber matting (like the kids foam puzzle piece type flooring but more heavy duty or like the flooring you get in gyms), but it's working out at about £600 Sad ideally we want to spend up to £300.

Anybody got any suggestions for a durable flooring, at least 17mm thick, that isn't going to cost a fortune? I'm at a loss.

DH bought some big foam gym floor tiles from Decathlon. I can't remember how much they were but not that expensive... you could definitely cut them to size and they're pretty thick too. They're like big jigsaw pieces that fit together and then they have this edging stuff to make them square. Ours have been down in the garage for about 3 years and are wearing well.
