Ex won’t agree to sale of house.

Hi can anyone advise. Me and my partner split 2 years ago. We have a house with a joint mortgage and I want to sell. He is refusing to sign the papers for it to go on the market as he will only deal with me. He was very controlling so I really don’t want to see him. My sister took the paperwork to him and he refused to answer the door. Can anyone advise on what to do next please x

Can I suggest you get MNHQ to move this to Relationships or Legal as its more a problem relating to your split rather than a house problem

I would speak to your mortgage company and see if your name can be removed, are you still paying your half. Speak to citizens advice or a solicitor about seeing if you can force a sale.

Can you take the papers to him but with someone accompanying you? I know you don't want to see him, but if it's the only way to get the papers signed, better to have someone with you who won't take any nonsense from him.
