Threads about house essentials and preferences

I'm right in the preliminary stages of renovating a property for my family to live in part time. I feel like I've seen a few threads crop up about things that are essential/handy to have fitted in your house but can't seem to find them.

Does anyone have links to these threads as I reckon it will be helpful? Feel free to add tips to this thread too!

We are starting a renovation / remodel soon and planning to try and live in it a bit before changing the non essentials (eg decorating) whereas other things need doing while it's vacant (eg rewire)

I spoke to a freelance concept planner today ( who has done work for us before,redesigning the whole ground floor layout, including a new kitchen and bootroom etc) as I wanted to tackle upstairs this time . She's booked up for almost 5 weeks ahead (pretty much all of the time). So my tip is remember to book your trusted trades early .
Funnily enough when I spoke to her today, she said she'd just been talking to someone else who didn't realise there would be a wait. I guess all good trades get booked up.* *
