Cherry trees - are they a problem?

Hi all. We have just received information from our solicitor that the house we are buying has 2 cherry trees nearby. It is an end of terrace house and one of the trees is at the back - is this an issue or potential issue? Once mortgage is approved then will arrange a home survey. Buying our first home and becoming overwhelming! Thanks!

We have just had one removed as the roots very growing under our garden wall and it was cracking! Everyone on the street took theirs out at the same time. It didn’t come up in our survey though and we only bought two years ago

It depends entirely on how far away it is from buildings.

Good to know. Thank you!

If it's nearer than 30 feet from the building, it could be a problem though cherry trees are not as bad as willows or oak trees.
