Can I have recommendations for the best ever garden furniture you've tried/seen/got?
I need it all... dining table, sofas, arm chairs, small coffee table set up, loungers, etc etc.
The sun shined today so I'm inspired! And willing to spend spend spend!

John Lewis, bought an outdoor corner sofa 5 years ago, still going strong, so comfy.

Cathpot · 29/04/2019 22:06

Oooo place marking as new patio is half finished and i really want something comfy to sit on

Mrsladybirdface · 29/04/2019 23:10

We've got IKEA Sjalland table, benches and chairs. We have it in a slightly older version than what is currently online.

Its some kind of mutant grey wood, which requires no maintenance or covering.

I just give it a was in the spring with some soapy water and it looks as good as new. It's about 3 years old and I can't see how it would wear!

Also, have an Argos, rattan effect corner sofa. Again, that requires no maintenance or covering.

If you can't tell, I'm not keen on maintaining things Grin

I have furniture I bought from Rattan Direct 8 years ago. It still looks like brand new! I just wash it down each Spring. (I won't be next year as I found the cover that came with it all a few weeks ago in the shed!!).

I also had a deck built and I have bought their sofa and armchairs too. Really good value, lasts forever.

Look on Wayfair.

HexagonalBattenburg · 30/04/2019 08:00

Our cheapo internet rattan look furniture's been left out in all weathers for years now, had kids climbing on it and all sorts and still looks as good as new. I take the cushions on it in during the autumn but it's still fine to sit on without the upholstery, and it's actually really comfy for the large of arse to sit on.

WokenUp · 30/04/2019 12:19

Just looking on Wayfair, this is AMAZING but bloody hell, how much?!? 🤣

Another one for Rattan Direct, had ours 4 years now and still looks new. Very good quality , we have a dining set, sofa set, loungers with coffee table and day bed.

Tunnockswafer · 30/04/2019 12:37

I had no idea you could leave rattan stuff outside. I thought it was just for people with large garages to stick it in in winter. Blush

womanhuman · 30/04/2019 13:01

woken, ikr? But there’s cheaper stuff too. I bloody love wayfair. Covers many budgets and a far bigger choice than most furniture shops.

Mominatrix · 30/04/2019 13:10

Barlow Tyrie, hands down. We purchased our lounge chairs, side tables, dining table and chairs from them about 12 years ago and they havel held up really well. Additionally, any problems we have had were quickly dealt with by the company and usually free of charge. Great quality and exemplary customer service.

supadupapupascupa · 30/04/2019 13:17

We just bought a lovely set from next and I'm panicking about storing it! Do the cushions need to come indoors? Does the furniture need covering over winter or does it need to go in a shed? Rattan set as pictured above pretty much

FunnyHappyGirl · 30/04/2019 13:29

@Tunnockswafer - most of the "rattan" stuff nowadays is actually heavy duty plastic weave, so fine to leave outside. We cover ours in winter and just bring the cushions in to avoid them getting grubby.

If you can dare wait, the end of season bargains are brilliant.

We've got this - Without the parasol and it only cost us £500 at the end of the year.

It's lovely and comfy but my only complaint it I get a static shock every time I get up. And I mean every time! No idea why - no-one else does! I have to do a convoluted arms out sideways every time I stand up and move away quickly or the bastard thing zaps my on the hip instead!

I rented a house in southern Italy a few years ago and I still remember the outdoor furniture there. It was just as comfy as indoor sofas. Ideally i want something like that... lemme search and see if I can find a photo with it in it

Successfully cropped myself out (I hope) Grin
Ooh I remember the mid afternoon snoozes I'd have on this sofa

We have a Kettler corner sofa with dining table- casual dining I think it's called.

It is brilliant.

Bouncebacker · 30/04/2019 13:50

I looked at the wayfair set - and many others - loads around that price at Dobbies. But sadly our budget was waaaaay smaller so we bought this from Homebase - only had it for a few days but it’s pretfg good so far:

For real stuff.
I have spent days researching this.

FIFIBEBE · 30/04/2019 20:13

Real teak sorry

shalalala · 30/04/2019 20:27

@whotheeff oh really? I'm considering getting some that is in SpecialBuys on Thursday - a wooden set. Is yours wood or metal?

Babysharkdododont · 30/04/2019 21:58

Another vote for Kettler furniture, its easily as comfortable as my proper sofa, and the quality is fantastic

EvaHarknessRose · 30/04/2019 22:12

I suspect in italy you can risk fabric that would get mouldy in the uk though ...
