We had a new composite door and side panel fitted today. Would you expect to have some sort of trim to cover the sealant outside? I just wanted to check before making an idiot of myself by asking the fitter. Thanks.

Added to which DH is probably going to complain about the unevenness/colour on some of the sealant.

I would expect a trim, yes. We’ve had doors fitted recently and I hyperventilated a bit when I went outside before they had finished and saw similar, but when I came back later they had sealed it all off.

@Saucery thanks for your response. Would you be able to post a picture so I can see what it looks like? I hate confrontation and DH is away so I have to put on my big girl pants and do it. Sad

It’s not a side panel, flush with the brickwork, it’s set in, but they did put sealant inside then covered with a UPVC trim. Not the neatest sealant, now I look at it but it’s all sealed iyswim?

See, there’s 2 now Grin

Is he maybe letting it settle then snapping on a trim later?

Is there space for any trim? The frame is quite close to the wall face.

That sealant doesn't look like they've used enough to me. Also I'd prefer it smoothed off with a finger rather than squirt and run!

Thanks @Saucery.

@Rollercoaster1920 I don't think there is enough space. I think we'll end up doing the sealant again smoothly.
