180 x 120 kitchen island?

Does anyone have a kitchen island 180x120cm ? Is it too small to be useful? I had hoped to have an island 240 x 120 but I just don’t have the space. Any showroom island is either narrow and long or really big so I can’t quite get a feel for the size in a kitchen space.

The island was originally going to have the hob in it but I could probably change that.

Ours is 120 by 250 and feels enormous - hob, seats 4 with no danger of getting splashed while I cook. Too big if anything. I think 120 by 180 would be plenty big enough!

Ours is only 100x130 and it's still big enough to be useful. No room to make it bigger
Totally plain, no hob or seating.

I’ve marked it out on my living room floor and I still can’t picture it in the space. I had wanted 4 stools but I guess at least 2 would fit with that size of island?

I just find it so hard to plan from a drawing.

I plonked 4 cardboard boxes over the kitchen chairs and placed them to mimic the island and we had a week of walking round them to be sure it wasn't too big for the space.
4 stools is a lot, the more stools you have on a certain sized island, the more knee space you need so less cupboard space.
Will it be your only eating area?

We are just planning our kitchen and our island will be 170x120 and I was also worried it would be a bit small. However, our current dining table is 170x80 so actually it will be quite a lot of room, plus we are not having anything on it so it will just be to sit at. I think
3 stools will fit under it as we are going for quite small ones that will fit completely under the overhand when not in use. We will have an l-shape kitchen around the island. Am hoping it will work. I had a peninsular before but we kept getting trapped in the kitchen so I thought an island would be easier to get in and out of the kitchen area!

Ours is 2m x 1m with nothing on it (i.e no sink or hob) and it feels plenty big enough, so I think 180x120 will be a great size.
I presume your stools will be along the 180 length? You should fit 3 stools - but it depends on the island design. If your breakfast bar side has closed sides it will be tight, but if it's open people can shift around!

My dining table is 180x100 so I think it will be absolutely fine.

Mine is exactly that size.

The total area of the kitchen is 3.7 along the window wall and about 3 m from the window to the edge of the island. there is around 1m walkway between the island and the other units. If I didn't have the shallow depth cupboard at the end it could seat 4 people BUT could only get 3 stools/chairs tucked in.
