OK, so I'm in work this week while nearly everyone else in the country my company seems to be on holiday. I'm fed up and in need of some wonderful property to ogle. So, please can I have your suggestions for houses with swimming pools - I'm looking for the best home swimming pool out there. This is purely for vicarious enjoyment as I've no intention of moving from my little flat and I'm unlikely to win the lottery any time soon, so location etc aren't relevant.

I’m not so sure the garden looking like peppa pigs head is a selling point for me but the swimming pool is there as requested!

I could live here though..

Peppa pig's head? Are you sure it's not meant to be a naked woman? Sort of fertility figure?

Or is it just me🤣

Whattodowithaminute · 15/04/2019 13:08

Hmmm I do see your perspective on the garden 😂

morningtoncrescent62 · 15/04/2019 13:25

Great houses, thanks Whattodowithaminute. The Frognal house really grew on me - didn't like it from the front but the back view is so cool and groovy, and the pool is fab. I'm seeing a mini-crop circle in the garden.

I drive past this one a lot as I go to the pub nearby, it's clearly been bought by somebody and is being now built. Views are wonderful, and the swimming pool looks good. I just love the Arts & Crafts style. Has been being built for about 4 years rumour has it when it goes on the market/if it were to go on the market that it''l be about 6 million.
It's only a couple of miles to the station, you could be in Paddington well within the hour. I suspect it's a banker's home. Everything looks so perfect on the build, they recently stuck in a new hedge by the road - hedge shrubs were 4ft tall, ready grown. Few weeks ago some pretty trees arrived. Massive 18ft ones.

Neither of those, thank you. The first one looks like a block of flats and the second one like a category C prison.

I'll save my tens of millions for a better option.

BiggerBoat1 · 15/04/2019 13:39

Here you go!

No pic of the pool though

Really not sure about the Barbar lawn at the first one!

Ariela · 15/04/2019 13:39

Hower, if I had 11.25 million, I'd be tempted by this infinity-edged pool:

Also, I thought the Frognal garden was an elephant Grin

isseywithcats · 15/04/2019 16:33

thats weird i saw the frognal garden paths as an owl

CoolShoeshine · 15/04/2019 16:36

I thought the garden was an elephant but it is actually an arty nudy lady - the agents blurb said it was based on a Picssso painting. That’s the one thing in the house I’d want to get rid of!

morningtoncrescent62 · 15/04/2019 16:45

I'm rather taken with the idea of being right on the beach - for those days when a swimming pool just isn't enough. Though that cosy little number in Oxfordshire looks rather nice, and how handy it would be to have completely separate houses for the staff.

How about something historic? Luddesdown Court is Grade I listed, possibly the oldest continuously occupied house in the country, and thought to have been owned by William the Conqueror's brother. They've also knocked £500k off the original sales price, quite possibly because the pool has a rather tacky dolphin on the bottom of it. I love the rest of it though.

morningtoncrescent62 · 15/04/2019 19:31

Oooh, how atmospheric, VeryLittleOwl. I have to say, the elephant in the room didn't quite do it for me but I'm loving the archways and I'm OK with the dolphin. Where would the staff live, though? Can't have them cluttering up the house itself, especially with only two bathrooms. They might have to - gasp - live out and come in daily.

Luddesdown court is really odd, some ceilings seem too low and oppressive some too high and ....odd.

Skyejuly · 15/04/2019 20:43

Love the Tudor one in Kent

morningtoncrescent62 · 17/04/2019 13:39

Mmmn, like the poolside bar on that one, Ariela.

Would never go for Luddesdown Court, you just know that place is haunted af which so much history behind it.

Cottipus · 24/04/2019 12:50

This has a fabulous conservatory. And 48 acres. Unfortunately it’s SSTC so you’ll either have to gazump or wait for another estate:

Plus 2 bars! Tennis court. And look at that view!

SecretWitch · 25/04/2019 16:48

I see Luddesdown Court is under offer :(. I was ready to place my bid! Living in such a historic home must be an amazing experience.
