Where's the nicest part to live?

Thinking of relocating from London for more space, good schools, safer area etc...but within commutable distance.

Really depends on your budget and what you are looking to buy for it.

Penguinpandarabbit · 15/04/2019 13:09

Hertford is lovely as is Ware and I think both have good schools.

sluj · 15/04/2019 13:11

Whereabouts in London do you need to commute to?

Wigeon · 15/04/2019 13:12

Some of the nicest, and therefore most expensive, places are: St Albans, Harpenden, Hitchen, Radlett, Rickmansworth. Plus lots of smaller villages.

What’s your budget?

Gazelda · 15/04/2019 13:20

There are some lovely places I. Hertfordshire. But your budget and commute needs are the key criteria.

pontiouspilates · 15/04/2019 13:31

St Albans and Harpenden are nice, as are Ware, Hertford and Berkhampstead. Welwyn Garden City is cheaper but quite dull and lacking in character. Avoid Stevenage and Hatfield.

St albans, Hertford, Harpenden, berkhamsted, tring are all nice. Also depends where you need to commute to as well. Tring/berkhampsted go into Euston, the others go to kings cross/st pancras. The st albans line is quick but apparently one of the most expensive mile for mile in europe.

Letchworth Garden City? Near the A1M and trains to London in about 40 mins.

Hertford has two mainline stations, one to Liverpool Street via Tottenham Hale and one to Moorgate via Finsbury Park. House prices reflect that though
