What sofa to go with mizzle?

My partner and I have decided on F&B mizzle for our living room - it's a very light gray/green.

I have zero intuition about styling and things like that so I have had a good look on Pinterest for inspiration and it looks like a lot of people paired it with a pale grey or cream sofa, which looks nice but seems a bit risky in terms of staining... We also have a cat so would like to avoid leather which I think he would be more tempted to scratch!

Any thoughts about what would look good?

maybe look at mid grey as wouldnt show any stains quite so much, i have four cats and funnily enough they murdered my fabric sofas but havent gone for the current leather one i have a tip for new sofas and cats is if its fabric put a bit of lemon juice and water in a spray bottle and spritz it, or if leather some vegetable oil and lemon juice and wipe very spraingly over the sofa as cats hate lemon and it puts them off from the start

Have you looked at the suggested colour schemes on the Farrow and Ball website? I liked it with Stiffkey Blue and Off Black - perhaps you could look for fabrics in a similar shade?

Thank you for the leather tips! I would quite like a nice tan leather I think so nice to know its an option. I'll have a look at those other F&B shades too, good idea.

Hi op. There are a million paint colours and in comparison to large furniture items, it's cheap. You're far better funding a sofa you love then matching paint to it, rather than vice versa. Much easier to do.

I would actually agree with the PP, the paint colour is the easy but. Choose the sofa and curtains first then the paint! I chose paint I loved for my bedroom, painted it and then spent months trying to find curtains in complementary colours with a pattern I didn’t hate.

This is my absolute favourite leather sofa (if you've now decided leather is okay). On sale too.

I would go for something similar to that sofa too. You describe mizzle as very light, have done a decent test on the wall,it's quite dark. We ended up using a similar colour but only on one wall as it looked so dark and afterwards was very glad we did.

I agree about choosing the sofa and curtains first then matching the paint to them.
