Why on earth is it so expensive?

Where are the salaries to keep prices so high coming from, or is it all London money?

*Location of one of the top 3 universities in the world which means rentals will always do well
*proximity to London and beautiful countryside
*Technical and intellectual hub drawing in industries/ investment which thrive on innovation

London commuting is surprisingly popular. A couple of old school friends moved out of London to Oxford and commute via the Oxford tube. They generally work condensed hours for three days then contract from home for two days a week. Some people commute every day.

I grew up there and moved away 2 years ago. The prices are crazy but I think mainly London-driven.

That does surprise me about people commuting via the Oxford tube. Although London is so expensive I can see why people who want a nice family home would do it. Some of the properties I was looking at in the window were no cheaper that somewhere leafy like Fulham or Belsize Park !

Although I think I'd rather pay £1.5mil for a 3bed terrace in West London than in Oxford, whatever floats your goat!
